The engineering and construction contractor will carry out the detailed engineering design of the project, procure all the equipment and materials necessary, and then construct to deliver a functioning facility or asset to their clients. Companies that deliver EPC Projects are commonly referred to as EPC Contractors.
Normally the EPC Contractor has to execute and deliver the project within an agreed time and budget, commonly known as a Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK) Contract. An EPC LSTK Contract places the risk for schedule and budget on the EPC Contractor.
The main job responsibilities of an EPC project manager may include the following but not limited to:
To independently lead and manage the engineering function, coordinate and manage the design and Engineering works for an EPC Thermal Power Project.
Internal Design and Engineering coordination, review and checking of all Drawings an data Manage the Civil and Structural D&E sub-consultant
Coordinate Design and Engineering between Civil and Structural sub-consultant, JV technology partner and Owners Engineer
To front end with Employer and Owners Engineers and handle queries and clarifications for the various engineering disciplines, especially Civil and Structural.
To work closely with the project management team and ensure proper execution of the job within the specified scope.
To manage the design issues during construction phase and ensure compliance with the client design.
The person who is seeking their career in EPC should have minimum qualifications in CIVIL Engineering Graduate from a recognized University.
